Ben Knaupp is a real estate attorney with over 21 years of experience practicing law in Oregon. He has helped hundreds of clients with a wide variety of real estate needs, including foreclosure defense, and general real estate transactions. His goal is to provide superior service for a reasonable cost, on-time and within a client's budget. 

Credentials and Accomplishments


Ben Knaupp graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University Law School in 1997. He was a Lead Articles editor for the BYU Law Review, and the recipient of a Merit Scholarship. He received his BA in Political Science (while also working on a minor in Chinese) at Brigham Young University, on full academic scholarship, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.99 gpa.


Ben was admitted to practice law before all courts in Oregon in September 1997. He is admitted to the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.  He also serves as a Pro Tem Judge for the Washington County Circuit Court since March 2018.


Ben is a frequent public speaker & instructor.  He testified as an expert witness for the Oregon State Bar disciplinary board in 2017 before the Oregon Supreme Court. He is a certified trainer for realtors on Oregon real estate law, conducting training at more than 30 classes since 2009. He was a presenter at the Oregon Real Estate and Land Use Fall Forum for attorneys in 2013 on alternative financing and foreclosure law. He has authored 4 articles that have been published in periodicals including Business Week Magazine, The Asset Protection Journal, The Brigham Young University Law Review, and the International Trade and Business Law Annual of the University of Queensland (Australia). He was the Editor in Chief of the Oregon Health Law Manual (from 2007-2009).


When he's not working, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife of 24 years and their 5 children, gardening, sports, playing his Roland Fantom keyboard, guitars, and singing.
